Poised for success: Britepak and Widasla’s bright future

Founded by four directors from Printpak in 1976, Britepak is a long-established company, operating within the pharmaceutical packaging space, which is a very niche market. Back in the day, pharma- ceutical companies would turn to large printing companies for small packaging with low volume runs. This wasn’t a good fit for the printing companies, who charged them accordingly. These four directors saw an opportunity to start a business that could cater to this demand, which led to their decision to break away and start their own company. Initially Britepak operated from a small warehouse belonging to one of their customers – who continues to be one of their customers today.

Since their inception in the small warehouse, the company continued to grow until they eventually needed to build a factory in Spartan – this took place

in 1984. They transferred their equipment, took occupation of their newly-built factory and they have been operating from these premises since. A factory was set up at the back of the building for package inserts and at this point the shareholders decided to exit the business.
